William Lyon Mackenzie
In 1834 William Lyon Mackenzie became the first mayor of Toronto. Mackenzie was born in Dundee, Scotland and immigrated to Upper Canada (Southern Ontario) in 1820. He also has a Toronto high school named after him. Fittingly it is named William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate Institute. Their mascot is a "Lyon".
